Supporting the Community

WEC Group is committed to supporting the local community of Darwen and the surrounding areas, which have been home to our succesful growth since our beginnings as a one-man-band in 1979. Through our continued growth we now also support causes and communities at our many sites across the UK.

Throughout the year we raise money to support local charities and communities by organising a range of activities. In addition, we undertake a range of manufacturing projects for the benefit of the local community free of charge.

CHARITY OF THE YEAR

Every year, WEC Group selects a local charity to support as our adopted charity for that year. We engage in a variety of fundraising activities, such as hosting an annual Golf Day, organising sponsored walks, and participating in 10k races, all with the primary goal of raising substantial funds for our chosen charity. Previous WEC Group Charities of the Year include; Blackburn with Darwen Youth Zone, Dementia UK, Theos' Warriors & Nightsafe.

Community Projects

At WEC Group, we take great pride in being an integral part of our local community.

Our strong commitment to supporting our community has led us to undertake various projects in collaboration with local authorities, charities, and associations, all free of charge. These projects have had a profound and positive impact on our community.

Our contributions to the community have encompassed a range of initiatives, including providing new fencing for a local day care facility, constructing an accessibility ramp for a local war veteran, and perhaps our most significant achievement, manufacturing a new dome and weathervane for the top of Darwen Tower.
